Salutations Section 50! I hope that everything is going excellent for your chapters! I have some super exciting news, which is the introduction of new Section Staff Members! 1. Chris Veit - Section 50 Leadership Chair - Chris is an alumnus of Theta Epsilon Chapter at Illinois State University. He pledged in Fall 2004 and was his pledge class fellowship chair. As an active, Chris held the positions of Pledge Trainer, VP Fellowship, and Sergeant at Arms. Chris graduated from ISU with a BA in Anthropology in December 2008. Chris is currently taking prerequisite courses for a nursing program at Illinois Central College. 2. Ashlee Ford - Section 50 Vice Chair - Ashlee pledged the Delta Beta chapter at the University of Oklahoma in Fall 2001 as a freshman. She was an active brother for four years serving in a variety of elected and appointed positions. She earned a BS in Chemical Engineering in May 2005 from OU and was awarded a Chapter DSK from Delta Beta in Spring 2006. In August 2005, Ashlee moved to Illinois for graduate studies and transfered her membership to the Alpha Alpha chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ashlee was very involved during her time at Alpha Alpha serving in an elected or appointed leadership role each semester except her first semester and attending APO LEADS courses and conferences during her five years as an active member. She also enjoys participating in Delta Beta alumni events. Ashlee was honored with the Section 50 Leader of the Year Award in Spring 2008 and the Alpha Alpha Robert E. Lee Award for Spring 2008 and Fall 2008. Ashlee earned her MS in Chemical Engineering in October 2009 and intends to finish her PhD in Chemical Engineering by May 2011. Other than APO and school, Ashlee loves getting others excited about science and engineering, Girl Scouts, crafts, playing French horn, group fitness classes, church league softball, taking pictures, traveling, playing board games, taking care of the kids at church, reading, spending time with loved ones, and meeting new people. These volunteers are here to assist your every need, so please use them. If you're a pledge, an active, an alumni, or someone who is relatively interested in conversation, email us! I know many of you are finishing up the school year, and the APO elections are going to be held rather soon. I wish you all luck in obtaining your desired positions. Remember, Presidents you will have to contact me with results of who won with contact information included! Finally, a message from Rob Coop! We were the 1st Region with all Chapters to have reported AAMD! GREAT JOB! |
